Hi, I'm Karen Hanna and welcome to my website. Home to my creative passion for all things in nature and to up-cycling items and give them new lives and purpose again. I'm a self-taught artist and have had a lifetime of creative endeavors from childhood. I've experience the creativeness of sewing, embroidery and quilting in my childhood and in later years I added crafting and gardening. Plus I made a career as an interior decorator for twenty plus years. I have lived in several states on both coast and in Europe for five years where I developed a passion for knitting and junking. Now in the last quarter of my life, my passion is creating, especially in acrylic paints and inks on canvas. I seem to have a tendency towards mixed media and floral art with an occasional stray compulsion to create something outside the box for me. I continue to study acrylic painting in various groups including Acrylic University, an on-line painting group for acrylic painters. I have been widowed for a while now, and moved near my son and daughter n law's cattle ranch to a tiny town and have lived in Texas now for 30 years. Makes me feel like a native Texan. I was not born in Texas but you can fall in love with the diversity of state. This is home. My mission is to follow my passion no matter how others perceive this. I want to encourage other women now in the last season of their lives to find a creative passion be it crafting, painting, quilting or writing. Never let your hands be still.
